Five Years Later: The State of our Country

Tomorrow, CNN is going to run a propaganda-based program about how much "better off" we are after the changes that have been made since 9/11. While I personally don't blame Bush for everything, I still have to be spiteful to the Bush Administration and to CNN.

Five years ago, two planes struck two large office buildings full of stock brokers and people from outside the US and killed about three thousand of them. At the same time, the military launched a missile at the Pentagon when the third plane crashed into a field in Philadelphia and failed to show up for its scheduled suicide-bombing. Well, that's what I think happened, anyway.

Five years ago, our great retarded Chief of State declared war on Terrorism, which is an ambigous term at best. All this has accomplished is promoting racism versus Muslims, which is making Americans more close-minded than ever before. Moving on, we succeeded in our manhunt for Osama Bin Laden by arresting Saddam Hussein. I'm not quite sure how they fucked that one up... not even Bush is that retarded.

Ever since this day, our glorious government has led 3,000 promising young lives to obliteration, interfered with the politcal independance of Iraq, destroyed thousands of years worth of Mesopotamian historical artifacts, and cost our country enough money to make the cost of World War 1 look like chump change.

And now I must ask you this question? Are we any better off now than we were 5 years ago? Are we truly safer and more secure? You might answer "yes, you dumbfuck! There's been at least some improvements," but at what cost? Now, I cannot explode fireworks in my front yard during a party without having to worry about the Fire Department and the Bomb Squad rolling out of who-the-fuck-knows-where.

Since that day, Americans no longer have the benefit of privacy that we once had. You can no longer even carry a fucking beverage onto an airplane because some crazed Muslims in London were going to try to bring liquid explosives onto the plane.

And you know what the worst part is? Our government is outright ignoring the important stuff. "Sure, it's all fine and dandy to restrict our people's freedoms. Hey, this guy over here thinks we should stricten border security so no terrorist can creep across the border! What a loser. He obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. He must be some racist redneck who's pissed because an illegal immigrant stole his job for $2 an hour and wants to have the same rights as the citizens who crossed over here legally and wants extra medical benefits that most citizens can't get on top of their social security, welfare, and pay checks.

"And, you know what? I have an even greater idea! Let's make Social Security nearly impossible to get into even when you're a service-disabled Veteran with Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, takes 400 mg of Trazodone a day, and has been applying repeatedly for well over a year!

"But why stop there? Let's eventually reinstate the draft and take his college-bound kids away from him to fight on the frontlines. Hell, it's the future. Imagine the possibilities! Why should we stop with ruining the economy and causing enough damage so that future generations will never be able to restore the US to a superpower after the inevitable fall from the tyrannical throne is holds over the world? Let's spend Trillions of dollars and then send all the bright people who could think of ways to fix the economy or discover alternative fuel sources onto the front lines!"

Any day now, they'll reinstate the draft and me as well as several million other unwilling college-bound students will be forced to sign up. Some of us will be shipped out immediately, and the rest of us will be forced to fight for a cause we don't believe in. All because our fucking leaders don't know what they're doing.

"Hey, let's declare war on an ambigous group of religious extremists who may have millions of members in our own country and let's say Fuck Border Control! Then lets waste thousands of lives and billions of dollars on a country filled with people who don't know what freedom is and won't know what do do with themselves once we've liberated them without their consent!!" I fucking salute you, America! Sieg Heil!

I don't particularly like this one. >_> You seem to have changed. Maybe I was ignoring it before but this definitely is something different.

It's simply because five years later I cannot find anything to complain about. Things suck then and they're gonna suck now, but that's nothing I'm going to try to criticize and change now.

CNN is going to run a program about the same thing tomorrow, so this is basically a counter-argument of that. I probably should've mentioned that in the article.

Also, I think it may have something to do with the massive lack of feedback I've recieved from Omen. Usually he gives me material to base jokes off of for later posts, but he hasn't replied in 3 posts.

I can't invite him to come over to my house just to read my posts. I've had/still have a busy work week. Also, he has time to on Wednesdays when he actually goes to school... when he's done with the weeks' worth of classwork he just made up.
