Net Neutrality and a Decrepit Dumbass | 
For those of you who aren't "in the know", Net Neutrality is the entire basis of fair play on the internet. Without it, corporations could selectively allow faster transmission of data from their servers and slow down or completely halt data transmission to/from their competitors' servers. The end result of such a catastrophe would be the end of the Internet.
Of course, things would be nearly as bad before that happened. For instance, Kobra's Corner, BurnJes.us, The Best Page in the Universe, and every other site like it would be completely inaccessible (and as a result, so would Kobra's Realm). You would be strong-armed into using the services that "the MAN" wants you to use.
To defend the other side of this debate, Senator Ted Stevens said "The internet is not just something you just dump something on. It's not a big truck. It's, it's a series of tubes."
Wow, real informative you worthless piece of shit. "It's not just something you just dump something on", eh? You should tell that to your speech writers from this point on, because you sound like a complete fuck-up.
You know, Scott Ramsoomair from VGCats said, "I should be more worried about this stuff because it affects me directly but, I'm not. These things have a way of working themselves out. Like when Napster went. Thus ending file sharing forever. What I'm saying is, there'll always be another option."
Well, he's half-right on that one. These things do work themselves out, but that's only because nobody in their right mind would be opposed to Net Neutrality. Without it, eCommerce would grind to a screeching hault, bloggers would be a thing of the past, and personal websites would cease to exist. The entire population of net-users would fight against it, and so would all of the Small Businesses. It would end up being a few corporations versus the entire fucking planet. I wonder who's gonna win that one?
If, by some dark miracle, Net Neutrality falls in on itself, I will march up to Congress and take a shit on Ted Stevens' desk. Hell, if I can't just dump shit on the internet, why not use his desk? You were right, Scott. There is always another option!
